Community Action in the Garden

One of the most rewarding parts of Green Shoots is seeing people come together to make a real difference to the site.

Recently, we welcomed participants from Kinnoull Community Day Opportunities, part of Perth & Kinross Council's Adult Learning Disabilities Team, for a day of practical work around the Centre.

Armed with wheelbarrows, shovels and plenty of enthusiasm, the team quickly got stuck into a wide range of tasks. Materials were moved, paths tidied, areas cleared, and countless jobs tackled across the site. What might have taken weeks for a small team was achieved in a single day through shared effort and teamwork.

By home time, the site looked very different, but the biggest change was seeing the sense of achievement across the group. There was plenty of laughter, plenty of hard work and a real sense that everyone had played a part in moving the project forward.

Days like this are a reminder that Green Shoots is about more than the physical space. It is about creating opportunities for people to contribute, learn, connect with others and be part of something bigger than themselves.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and contributed their time, energy and enthusiasm. The progress made was remarkable, but the smiles and sense of achievement at the end of the day were even better.

We think the smiles in the photos say it all.
